Blue-Blaze (verb) -
The entire AT is marked with white blazes. When other trails intersect with the AT, they are usually marked
with some blue paint. So if spend the day Blue-Blazing, you are taking a trail that is not the AT.

Nero -
Short for "Near Zero." Not quite a Zero Day, but pretty close it. |

Slackpack -
Hiking without a pack. Usually happens when a friend of one of the hikers offers to take everyone's packs to the next gap. |

SoBo -
Short for SouthBounders. I guess that makes Jim a Nobo. |

Trail Magic -
Anything out of the ordinary along the trail that is done to help out the hikers. Someone waiting
in a gap with refreshments. An unexpected ride into town. A free dinner. Someone offering to
take your pack so you can slackpack to the next shelter. Any unexpected blessing.

Yellow-Blaze (verb) (correction)-
Very different from Blue-Blaze. The inference is that you are cheating by traveling by vehicle instead of hiking the trail. Gets its name from the paint color of the center line on the road. |

Zero Day -
A day spent doing anything except hiking. Hopefully mostly resting.
